Purchase Permits - Wexford County:
With or Without a Valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL)


Firearm Purchase Permits

Without a valid CPL License:

    ~  
 Residents of Wexford County that reside OUTSIDE of the City of Cadillac limits or the
        City of Manton limits, who do not possess a valid CPL license, are required to
        obtain a Purchase Permit prior to purchasing or receiving a pistol firearm, even if given
        within a family.  This form is now a 4 part yellow form.
    ~  The Purchase Permit is valid for ten days, so the transaction must take place within that
        time frame.  After the transaction, the purchaser must return two completed copies to the
        Sheriff's Office.  You no longer need to bring the firearm into the office for an inspection.
    ~  Please complete the forms COMPLETELY and CLEARLY print the required information.
        YOU are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the information.

Firearm Purchase Permits ~ With a valid CPL :

Wexford County residents who hold a valid CPL are not required to obtain a
        Purchase Permit; however, they are to use a Pistol Sales Record 4-part card (form RI-60).  
        These cards are available at Federal Firearm Dealers, the Wexford County Sheriff's Office,
        or local law enforcement agencies. 
~      After obtaining the firearm, the CPL holder is to return two completed copies to the
        Sheriff's Office.  You no longer need to bring the firearm into the office for an inspection.
