Firearm Purchase Permits ~
Without a valid CCW License:
~ Residents of Wexford County that reside OUTSIDE of the City
of Cadillac limits or the
City of Manton limits, who do not possess a valid CCW
license, are required to
obtain a Purchase Permit prior to purchasing or receiving a
pistol firearm, even if given
within a family.
~ The Purchase Permit is valid for ten days, so the transaction
must take place within that
time frame. Within an additional ten days (20 days from
obtaining the Purchase Permit),
the purchaser must return to the Sheriff's Office with the
firearm unloaded and secured
and with the completed Purchase Permit during the business
hours of Monday-Friday,
8:00 AM-4:30 PM, excluding holidays.
~ If a transaction does not occur after a Purchase Permit is
obtained, the unused or
expired Permit is to be returned to the Wexford County
Sheriff's Office.
